Controlling dust in the home is a never-ending task
Controlling dust in the home is a never-ending task Q. Can cellulose insulation in our attic cause dust in our house? The insulation was put in about 40 years ago. Our house is so dusty I cant keep up with it. If its not the insulation, what else is the cause and what can I do to minimize it? Too much of my time is spent getting rid of the dust! A. Youre not alone in the war against dust. A colourful welcome
July 4th, 2011
Ive had this image, below, for a while now (and unfortunately didnt make a note of where it is or where I discovered it) and Ive been waiting for an opportunity to share it with you. The entrance to your home is just as important as the interior, as it is the very first thing a person sees and first impressions are important.

Depending on were you live and whether you rent or are a home owner, there tends to be a limit on what changes you can make to the exterior. However, a lick of colourful paint on the door and a few potted plants carefully placed around the doorstep could be all you need to add to create that welcoming vibe!

My Journey As A Scroll Saw Pattern Designer #390: Lots of Little Things Accomplished
Its going to storm here today, it seems. It actually looks quite gloomy. Thats OK though, as I have lots of indoor things to do today and being inside will help me stay on them and get them done. Although it is a holiday in the US, it is a pretty normal Monday here in Canada. I wonder if there will be any mail yet, as it is quite slow in getting back up and running.
I had a really good day yesterday. I cleaned up a lot of odds and ends and got things set up for the 72 skating pond sets that I need to cut. The setting up part is not my favorite. I have sheets of 30 x 30 1/8 Baltic Birch plywood that I am using for the figures.
New north part of the Highline in New York city

The Highline in New York city is one of the best experiences in town at the moment. While in New York for the DesignBoost-NYC event at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum we went to see the new north part. It was an amacing experience to see how this old railway has been turned into a park for New Yorkers of all kind; joggers, readers, meditators… If you you have not yet seen the Highline go there! S
A non-toxic approach to spring cleaning

A number of companies exhibiting at the Green Products Expo displayed eco-friendly cleaning products, including kitchen tools made from bamboo, reusable cleaning cloths, chemical-free household cleaners and vacuums that clean with steam.
Those in the market for home care accessories that are both fashionable and eco-friendly might consider Full Circle, a brand whose offerings include dish brushes made with sustainable bamboo handles and recycled plastic bristles, glass cleaners topped with a biodegradable cellulose sponge, bottle brushes made from recycled plastic and stainless steel, and arch-shaped sponges that dry fast and keep bacteria off your counter.
