Folding sawhorse stows away
World’s best sawhorse? It holds hundreds of pounds yet folds up and stows away.
Every shop needs a set of sawhorses. I don’t use them so much for sawing as I do for organizing parts and pieces as I mill them and work on them, keeping them close at hand. As editor of FWW, I’ve seen dozens of sawhorse designs, but these are the ones I have in my shop.
I made them from some scrappy maple I had lying around (maple is great because it can be thin and yet very strong), and the hinges are those cheap utility type you can find at every hardware store.

This is the weekend we go to pick up our new puppy! It seems like we have been thinking about and preparing for its arrival for ages now. I am excited and also nervous. Here are a few of the things we have done to get our home ready for the incoming bundle of energy. Are we ready?

Six Board Blanket Chest
Matt and I are just getting ready to unload our bounty of Eastern White Pine. Here we each have chose a couple hundred board feet of boards. We even had some extra to sell to a couple colleagues.
I along with several of my fellow colleagues we had a rare opportunity to purchase some local Eastern White Pine from one of the Homebuilding editors this summer. He had a neighbor who wanted to cut down a few very large trees adjacent to his property. Ceasing on this he arranged to have the large trees cut down and sawn up for lumber at a mill in northern Connecticut. Then to defer the costs he was willing to sell the boards at a very reasonable price. Hence
